52 new COVID-19 cases, 16 recoveries

There are 52 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 29, 2021.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West (9), Saskatoon (9), North West (6), Regina (6), South East (5), North Central (4), Far North East (3), Far North Central (2), North East (2), Central East (1). 

Five cases are pending residence information.  

One previously reported case with location pending was assigned to the Regina zone.

There are now to 49,882 reported cases, including 412 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 44 (3.7 new cases per 100,000.

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 578.

A total of 12,346 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,831), Saskatoon (2,141), South East (1,156), South Central (892), North West (871), Central East (654), North Central (639), South West (416), Far North West (337), Central West (150), Far North East (87), North East (85), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

No new lineage results were reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 8,050 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,041 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 573 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 426 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,400,844.

The additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (1,603), Regina (1,357), South East (472), North West (403), North East (403), North Central (356), Central West (355), Central East (334), Far North West (174), South Central (169), South West (99), Far North East (80), and Far North Central (6). There were 208 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 43 people in hospital. Thirty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (15), Regina (11), North Central (4), North West (2), Far North West (1), and South East (1). Nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Regina (3), and North Central (1).

Sixteen more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,892 recoveries.

There were 1,564 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 28. To date, 958,748 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
