51 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 25 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West (10), Far North Central (8), Far North East (8), North West (7), Regina (5), Saskatoon (3), Central East (3), South East (2), North East (1), and South Central (1), with three cases pending residence information

There are two new deaths to report today. One death was reported in the 50 to 59 age group from the Regina zone and one death was reported in the 60 to 69 age group from the North East zone. That brings the provincial total to 577.

There are 51 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 23, 2021.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West (10), Far North Central (8), Far North East (8), North West (7), Regina (5), Saskatoon (3), Central East (3), South East (2), North East (1), and South Central (1).  

The new case in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three cases are pending residence information.  

Three cases were re-assigned to the Far North Central zone. One case that tested out-of-province was added to the Saskatoon zone.

There are now to 49,608 reported cases, including 312 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 34 (2.8 new cases per 100,000). 

No new lineage results were reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,961 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,027 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 505 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 419 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

A total of 12,333 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,831), Saskatoon (2,138), South East (1,156), South Central (892), North West (864), Central East (654), North Central (638), South West (416), Far North West (337), Central West (150), Far North East (87), North East (83), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 8,204 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,374,210.

The additional 8,204 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (2,998), Regina (1,874), Central East (659), North Central (590), North West (444), South East (319), South Central (254), South West (227), North East (200), Central West (170), Far North West (110), Far North East (73), and Far North Central (10). There were 276 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 64 people in hospital. Fifty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (18), Regina (15), North West (8), North Central (6), South Central (3), Far North West (1), North East (1), Central East (1), and South East (1). Ten people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (4), North Central (3), and Regina (3).

Twenty-five more people recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,719 recoveries.

There were 1,654 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 22. To date, 950,698 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
