50 new COVID-19 cases, 51 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (13), Far North West (10), Far North Central (8), Regina (7), Central East (3), North Central (2), North West (1), North East (1), South West (1), South Central (1), and South East (1), with two cases pending residence information

There are 50 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 28, 2021.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (13), Far North West (10), Far North Central (8), Regina (7), Central East (3), North Central (2), North West (1), North East (1), South West (1), South Central (1), and South East (1).  

The new case in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Two cases are pending residence information

One case with location pending was assigned to the North Central zone.

Fifteen Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the following zones: Far North West (6), North West (4), Saskatoon (2), Central West (2), and Far North East (1).

There are now 49,830 reported cases, including 376 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 41 (3.4 new cases per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 578.

A total of 12,343 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,831), Saskatoon (2,141), South East (1,156), South Central (892), North West (869), Central East (654), North Central (639), South West (416), Far North West (337), Central West (150), Far North East (87), North East (84), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

New lineage results were reported for 88 Variants of Concern today. Of the 8,050 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,041 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 573 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 426 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 4,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,394,825.

The additional 4,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (1,125), Saskatoon (1,086), South East (441), North West (375), North Central (315), Central East (301), North East (257), Central West (193), Far North East (104), South West (76), South Central (69), Far North West (53), and Far North Central (1). There were 166 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 43 people in hospital. Thirty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (14), Regina (10), North Central (4), North West (2), South Central (2), Far North West (1), and South East (1). Nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Regina (3), and North Central (1).

Fifty-one more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,876 recoveries. 

There were 1,824 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 27. To date, 957,184 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
