There are five new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Oct. 4.
The new cases are located in the South East (2), Saskatoon (1), Central East (1), and Regina (1) zones.
There are now 1,959 reported cases, including 153 active cases.
A total of 1,782 people have recovered.
One person is in hospital receiving intensive care in Regina.
Of the 1,959 cases in the province to date:
- 296 cases are travellers;
- 965 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
- 567 have no known exposures; and
- 131 are under investigation by local public health.
On a regional level,
- 452 cases are from the south area (225 south west, 204 south central, 23 south east);
- 403 cases are from the Saskatoon area;
- 359 cases are from the far north area (350 far north west, 0 far north central, 9 far north east);
- 281 cases are from the north area (132 north west, 80 north central, 69 north east);
- 273 cases are from the central area (176 central west, 97 central east); and
- 191 cases are from the Regina area.
Twenty-four deaths have been reported to date.
To date, 199,524 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. Yesterday, 1,419 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan.
