49 new COVID-19 cases, 33 recoveries

There are 49 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 3, 2021.

The new cases reported today are located in the following zones: Far North East (14), Regina (9), Saskatoon (7), North West (5), Far North West (4), North Central (2), South East (2), South Central (2), and South West (1).  

Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three new cases are pending residence information.

There are now 48,931 reported cases, including 421 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 36 (3.1 per 100,000).  

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 568. 

As of July 2, 12,199 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,803), Saskatoon (2,122), South East (1,145), South Central (889), North West (834), Central East (651), North Central (633), South West (401), Far North West (322), Central West (146), Far North East (87), North East (80), and Far North Central (3). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 8,392 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,202,927.

There are 60 people in hospital. Fifty-one people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Regina (12), North Central (7), North West (4), South Central (4), Central East (2), Central West (1), and South East (1). Nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (3), Regina (3), North Central (2), and North West (1),.  

Thirty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 47,942 recoveries. 

There were 1,679 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 2. To date, 921,982 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
