There is one new death to report today in the 80-plus age group from the North West zone.
That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 571.
There are 36 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 9, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: North Central (5), Regina (5), Far North West (4), Far North East (4), Saskatoon (4), South West (4), South East (4), North West (3), and North East (2).
One case is pending residence information.
Fifteen cases were re-assigned to the Far North East (11) and North Central (4) zones.
Ten cases, which were Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province, were added to the following zones: North West (5), Far North West (1), Far North East (1), Saskatoon (1), Central East (1), and South Central (1).
There are now 49,198 reported cases, including 403 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 45 (3.7 per 100,000).
A total of 12,262 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,822), Saskatoon (2,129), South East (1,148), South Central (889), North West (841), Central East (651), North Central (636), South West (414), Far North West (329), Central West (149), Far North East (87), North East (80), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.
There were 80 lineage results reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,667 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,911 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 398 are Gamma (P.1), 348 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).
An additional 12,678 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,273,245.
The additional 12,678 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (3,756), Regina (3,038), North West (1,121), Central East (930), North Central (836), South East (753), South Central (437), Central West (421), South West (416), North East (239), Far North East (189), Far North West (108), and Far North Central (38). There were 396 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 61 people in hospital. Fifty-one people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Regina (14), North West (6), North Central (6), South East (2), Central West (1), Central East (1), and South Central (1). Ten people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (4), Regina (4), and North Central (2).
Fifty-seven more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,224 recoveries.
There were 2,544 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 8. To date, 932,412 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
