332 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths reported, 189 recoveries

Seven Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Four new deaths were recorded in North Central, including one in the 70 to 79 age group and three in the 80-plus age group. Two new deaths were recorded in the Regina zone, including one in the 60 to 69 age group and one in the 80-plus age group. One new death was recorded in the South East in the 50 to 59 age group. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 191.

There are 332 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Jan. 9, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (74), Regina (57), North West (44), South East (32), North East (30), North Central (18), Far North East (17), Central East (14), Far North West (9), Far North Central (8), South Central (8), and Central West (2) zones. 

Six of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Nineteen new cases have pending residence information.

Three duplicate cases have been removed. Two from the North West zone (one case from Dec. 3, 2020 and one case from Dec. 11) and one from the Central East zone from Jan. 7.

There are now 17,803 reported cases, including 3,186 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 289 (23.9 new cases per 100,000 population)

As of Jan. 9, a total of 6,964 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Saskatchewan. This includes 2,069 Pfizer doses and 788 second doses in the Regina pilot program; 2,681 Pfizer doses in Saskatoon; 386 Pfizer doses in Prince Albert; 482 Moderna doses in the Far North West zone, 65 Moderna doses in the Far North Central and 493 Moderna vaccinations were administered yesterday in the Far North East.

One hundred and eighty-nine more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 14,426 recoveries. 

One hundred and seventy-nine people are in hospital. One hundred and forty-nine people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (46), Regina (38), North Central (29), South East (11), North West (9), Central East (9), North East (3), South Central (2), Far North West (1), and Far North Central (1). Thirty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (13), Saskatoon (9), North Central (5), Central East (2), and North West (1).

There were 3,049 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 8, 2021. To date, 448,217 COVID-19 tests have been processed
