32 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 64 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), Regina (8), South East (4), Central East (3), Far North West (2), North West (2), North Central (1), and North East (1)

There is one new death to report today in the 70 to 79 age group from the North West zone.

There are 32 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 23, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), Regina (8), South East (4), Central East (3), Far North West (2), North West (2), North Central (1), and North East (1).  

One case is pending residence information.

One case was reassigned to the Far North East Zone.  

Two cases were determined to be out-of-province and removed from the Regina zone. Two cases were Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province), one case was added to the Far North West zone, while the other was added to the North West zone. 

There are now 48,537 reported cases, including 607 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 61 (5 per 100,000).  

As of June 22, 12,020 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,782), Saskatoon (2,089), South East (1,133), South Central (887), North West (782), Central East (644), North Central (618), South West (399), Far North West (299), Central West (145), Far North East (83), North East (79), and Far North Central (1). There are 79 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There is one new lineage result reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 6,904 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,476 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 293 are Gamma (P.1), 125 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 18,423 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,023,698.

The additional 18,423 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (4,243), Regina (4,198), Central East (1,716), South East (1,572), North East (1,138), South Central (899), Central West (892), North West (845), North Central (776), South West (628), Far North West (549), Far North East (402), and Far North Central (49). There were 516 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 75 people in hospital. Sixty-three people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (29), Regina (11), North Central (9), North West (7), Central East (3), South Central (3), and Far North West (1). Twelve people are in intensive care in the following zone: Regina (5), Saskatoon (4), North Central (2), and North West (1). 

Sixty-four more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 47,365 recoveries.

There were 1,807 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 22. To date, 905,867 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
