290 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths reported, 142 recoveries

Four Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One reported death was in the 60 to 69 age group in the North East zone. Two new deaths in the 70 to 79 age group were reported in the Far North West (1) and Saskatoon (1) zones. One new death in the 80-plus age group was reported in the Far North East zone. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 219.

There are 290 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 18, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (55), Far North West (45), North West (41), North East (33), Regina (25), Far North East (20), North Central (13), Far North Central (12), Central East (10), South East (7), South Central (5), South West (2), and Central West (1) zones. 

Four of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Twenty-one new cases have pending residence information.

Six cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (2), North Central (2), Saskatoon (1), and South Central (1) zones.

There are now 20,562 reported cases, including 4,265 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 291 (24.0 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 2,449 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 22,618.

The doses were administered in the following zones: South East (792), Saskatoon (778), Regina (527), Central East (183), Far North East (104), and North Central (65). 

Data for Jan. 17 from the Far North West and Far North Central zones is not yet available and will be reported tomorrow. On Jan. 16, there were 10 doses administered in the Far North Central zone.

Two hundred and ten people are in hospital. One hundred and eighty people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (61), Regina (42), North Central (24), North West (13), South East (11), North East (10), Central East (8), Far North West (7), Far North Central (1), Central West (1), South West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (15), Regina (8), North Central (3), North West (2), Central East (1), and South Central (1).

One hundred and forty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 16,078 recoveries.

There were 2,811 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 17. To date, 473,604 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
