29 new COVID-19 cases, 51 recoveries

There are 29 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 2, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North East (10), Far North West (3), Far North Central (3), North Central (3), South West (3), Saskatoon (2), North East (1), Regina (1), and South East (1). 

Two cases are pending residence information.  

There are now 50,096 reported cases, including 474 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 51 (4.2 new cases per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 578.

A total of 12,358 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,831), Saskatoon (2,149), South East (1,156), South Central (892), North West (872), Central East (654), North Central (640), South West (416), Far North West (337), Central West (150), Far North East (88), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 1,531 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,417,127.

There are 58 people in hospital. Forty-seven people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (19), Regina (12), North Central (10), North West (3), Far North West (1), South Central (1), and South East (1). Eleven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Regina (5), and North Central (1).

Fifty-one more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 49,044 recoveries.

There were 862 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 964,363 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
