274 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths reported, 306 recoveries

Three Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 50 to 59 age group in the North Central zone, one in the 60 to 69 age group in Far North East zone, and one in the 80-plus age group in the Far North West zone. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 250.

There are 274 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 23, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (51), Far North West (50), North West (41), Regina (41), North Central (19), North East (16), Far North East (16), South East (11), Far North Central (10), Central East (5), Central West (3), and South West (1) zones.

Ten new cases have pending residence information.

Ten previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (5), Far North East (3), and North Central (2) zones.

One previously reported case in the Saskatoon zone has been found to be an out-of-province resident and removed from the counts.

There are now 21,917 reported cases, including 3,161 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 276 (22.8 new cases per 100,000 population)

There were 1,110 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 32,385. As of Jan. 22, 96 per cent of the doses received have been administered.  

The doses were administered in the following zones: North West (449), Central East (320), Regina (148), South East (84), North East (56), Saskatoon (34), Far North East (10), and Far North Central (9) zones.

One hundred and ninety-seven people are in hospital. One hundred and sixty-two people are receiving inpatient care: Saskatoon (70), Regina (36), North Central (22), North West (13), Central East (8), Far North West (4), South East (4), Central West (2), South West (2), and South Central (1). Thirty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (18), Regina (9), North Central (4), North West (2), Central East (1), and South Central (1).

Three hundred and six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 18,506 recoveries.

There were 3,252 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 22. To date, 488,255 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
