26 new COVID-19 cases, 20 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West (14), Saskatoon (5), North West (2), Far North East (1), North Central (1), Regina (1), and South Central (1), with one case pending residence information

There are 26 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 22, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West (14), Saskatoon (5), North West (2), Far North East (1), North Central (1), Regina (1), and South Central (1).  

The new case in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

One case is pending residence information.  

One case was re-assigned to the North West zone.  

Five cases, which were Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province, were added to the Regina (4) and South East (1) zones.

There are now 49,556 reported cases, including 287 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 30 (2.5 new cases per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 575. 

A total of 12,331 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,831), Saskatoon (2,138), South East (1,156), South Central (892), North West (862), Central East (654), North Central (638), South West (416), Far North West (337), Central West (150), Far North East (87), North East (83), and Far North Central (4). There are 83 screened VOCs with residence pending.

No new lineage results were reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,961 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,027 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 505 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 419 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 7,286 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,366,006.

The additional 7,286 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (2,149), Saskatoon (1,846), South East (600), North West (595), North Central (480), Central East (395), North East (222), South Central (216), Central West (200), South West (142), Far North West (86), Far North East (67), and Far North Central (21). There were 267 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 59 people in hospital. Forty-eight people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (15), Regina (15), North West (7), North Central (7), Far North West (1), Central East (1), South Central (1), and South East (1). Eleven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Regina (3), North Central (2), and North West (1). 

Twenty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,694 recoveries. 

There were 1,744 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 21. To date, 949,044 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
