240 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 217 recoveries

One Saskatchewan resident who tested positive for COVID-19 has died. This individual was from the North Central Zone and in the 80-plus age group. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 254.

There are 240 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 25, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (49), Regina (42), North East (36), North West (33), Central East (30), Far North West (17), North Central (12), South East (6), Central West (5), Far Far North East (3), North Central (2), and South Central (2) zones.

Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three new cases have pending residence information. 

Three previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (1), North Central (1), and South East (1) zones.

One previously reported case was deemed to be out-of-province and removed from the count for Saskatoon.

There are now 22,416 reported cases, including 3,272 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 265 (21.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 304 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 33,353. As of Jan. 24, 102 per cent of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.

The doses were administered in the following zones: Saskatoon (149), North West (133), Far North Central (11), and Far North East (11). An additional 10 vaccines not previously reported, were administered in the Far North Central zone on Jan. 19.

Two hundred and two people are in hospital. One hundred and seventy (170) people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (69), Regina (39), North Central (27), North West (13), Central East (8), South East (4), Far North West (3), Central West (3), North East (2), South West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty-two people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (14), Regina (11), North West (2), North Central (2), Central East (1), South West (1), and South Central (1).

Two hundred and seventeen more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 18,890 individuals have recovered.

There were 2,193 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 23. To date, 493,132 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
