234 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths reported, 694 recoveries

Four Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One reported death was in the 60 to 69 age group in the Regina zone; one reported death was in the 70 to 79 age group in the North Central zone; and two new deaths in the 80-plus age group were reported in the Saskatoon (1) and South East (1) zones. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 226.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) notes that three deaths (two in the Regina zone and one in the South East zone) have been removed from the province's numbers because it has been determined they were not COVID-19 related.  

There are 234 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 20, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (66), North West (39), Far North West (27), Regina (23), Far North East (18), North East (17), Central East (15), North Central (9), South East (8), Central West (6), South Central (2), Far North Central (1), and South West (1) zones. 

Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Two new cases have pending residence information.

Twenty-five cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (13), North West (8), North Central (2), Saskatoon (1), and Regina (1) zones.

Seven Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the counts for the following zones: Far North West (3), Far North East (2), Central East (1), and Saskatoon (1).

There are now 21,112 reported cases, including 3,702 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 298 (24.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 2,658 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 24,575.

The doses were administered in the following zones: Regina (774), Central East (485), North Central (460), Saskatoon (444), North West (348), Far North East (80), South East (47), Far North West (11), and Far North Central (9). No data was reported for Jan. 19 for the North East zone.

Due to a technical issue, the provincial government says current hospitalization data is not available. This information will be updated in tomorrow’s report. 

Six hundred and ninety-four more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 17,184 recoveries.

There were 2,559 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 19. A total of 479,092 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
