Fourteen Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 40 to 49 age group from the North Central zone; two deaths were reported in the 50 to 59 age group from the Regina and Saskatoon zones; two deaths were reported in the 60 to 69 age group from the Saskatoon zone; three deaths were reported in the 70 to 79 age group from the Regina, Saskatoon and South East zones; there were six reported deaths in the 80-plus age group from the Far North West, North Central, Regina, South East ,and Saskatoon (2) zones.
That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 268.
There are 232 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 26, 2021.
The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (47), Regina (46), North West (45), North Central (31), Far North West (23), North East (7), South East (6), Far North East (4), Central East (4), Far North Central (3), Central West (3), and South Central (2) zones.
Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Eleven new cases have pending residence information.
Three previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North East (1), Far North West (1), and North Central (1) zones.
Two previously reported cases were deemed to be out-of-province and removed from the count for Far North West zone and pending category.
There are now 22,646 reported cases, including.2,665 active cases.
The seven-day average of daily new cases is 254 (20.7 new cases per 100,000 population).
There were 362 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan. This brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 34,080. As of Jan. 25, 104 per cent of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.
The doses were administered in the following zones: Saskatoon (241), North West (66), North East (23), Far North West (22), and Central East (10). Backdated corrections submitted for the period Jan. 17 to 24 have realized an additional 365 doses of vaccine administered.
Two hundred and eight people are in hospital. One hundred and seventy-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (73), Regina (36), North Central (28), North West (15), Central East (8), Far North West (5), South East (4), North East (2), Central West (2), South West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty-three people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (15), Regina (11), North West (2), North Central (2), Central East (1), South West (1), and South Central (1).
Eight hundred and thirty-nine more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 19,729 individuals recoveries
There were 2,160 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 25. To date, 495,292 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
