227 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 188 recoveries

There are two new deaths to report today. One death is from the South Central zone, in the 40 to 49 age group and one death is from the Saskatoon zone in the 70 to 79 age group. 

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 515.

There are 227 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 14, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (50), Regina (41), South East (36), South Central (20), North West (18), North Central (17), South West (15), Central East (10), North East (7), Central West (5), Far North West (2), Far North Central (1), and Far North East (1). 

Eleven of the 20 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four new case are pending residence information. 

Six cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the following zones: Central East (3), Regina (2), and North West (1). 

Six cases tested out of province were added to the following zones: North West (2), Saskatoon (2), Central East (1), and one case is pending residence information. 

There are now 44,159 reported cases, including 2,075 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 203 (16.6 new cases per 100,000).  

As of May 13, 8,915 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,324), Saskatoon (1,179), South East (918), South Central (645), Central East (421), North West (352), South West (299), North Central (267), Far North West (198), Central West (95), North East (53), and Far North East (11). There are 153 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are four hundred and thirty-eight new lineage results reported today. Of the 4,106 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 4,021 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 71 are P.1 (Brazilian), nine are B.1.351 (SA), and 5 are B.1.617 (Indian).  

An additional 7,930 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 553,389.

The 7,930 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (2,616), Regina (1,422), South East (732), North West (642), Central East (517), Central West (452), North Central (273), North East (268), South Central (223), Far North West (206), Far North East (174), South West (142), and Far North Central (1). There were 262 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 149 people in hospital. One hundred and fifteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (52), Regina (36), South Central (6), North Central (5), North West (4), Central East (4), South West (4), South East (3), and Far North West (1). Thirty-four people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (18), Saskatoon (13), North West (1), North Central (1), and Central East (1).

One hundred and eighty-eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 41,569 recoveries. 

There were 4,085 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 13. To date, 816,227 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
