227 new COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths reported, 816 recoveries

Thirteen Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. This includes one reported death in the 60 to 69 age group from Saskatoon; three reported deaths in the 70 to 79 age group in the Far North Central, North Central, and Saskatoon zones; and nine reported deaths in the 80-plus age group in the Saskatoon (6), Far North East (1), North Central (1), and South East (1) zones. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 239.

There are 227 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 21, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (62), Regina (50), North Central (21), North West (18), Far North West (14), Central East (12), South East (12), North East (11), Far North East (7), Far North Central (6), Central West (4), South Central (4), and South West (2) zones.

Two of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four new cases have pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (1) and Regina (1) zones.

One previously reported case was deemed to be invalid and removed from the Central East zone count.

There are now 21,338 reported cases, including 3,099 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 286 (23.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 2,548 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan. That brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 29,781.

The doses were administered in the following zones: Regina (800), South East (530), North West (418), Saskatoon (400), North Central (185), Central East (175), Far North East (30), and Far North Central (10). No data was reported Jan. 20 for the Far North West and North East zones.

One hundred and ninety-seven people are in hospital. One hundred and sixty-six people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (59), Regina (40), North Central (18), North West (13), Central East (12), South East (8), North East (6), Far North West (6), Far North East (1), Central West (1), South West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty-one people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (14), Regina (9) ,North Central (4), North West (3), and South Central (1).

There were 2,764 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 20, 2021. To date, 481,856 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.  

Eight hundred and sixteen more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 18,000 recoveries.
