223 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths reported, 232 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (71), Central East (28), Regina (24), South Central (17), North West (15), South East (15), North Central (12), Far North East (9), Central West (8), Far North West (7), North East (6), and South West (5)

There are five new deaths to report today.  

One death is in the 60 to 69 age group from the Far North East zone), two deaths are in the 70 to 79 age group from the Far North East and North Central zones, and two deaths are from the 80-plus age group from the North West and Regina zones. 

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 513.

There are 223 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 13, 2021.  

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (71), Central East (28), Regina (24), South Central (17), North West (15), South East (15), North Central (12), Far North East (9), Central West (8), Far North West (7), North East (6), and South West (5).  

Fourteen of the 17 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Six new cases are pending residence information.  

One case with pending residence information has been assigned to the North West zone.

Thirty cases tested out of province were added to the following zones: Far North East (10), Far North West (5), North West (4), Saskatoon (4), and Regina (4), North East (1), Central West (1), and Central East (1).

There are now to 43,926 reported cases, including 2,032 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 212 (17.3 new cases per 100,000).  

As of May 12, 8,782 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,299), Saskatoon (1,152), South East (902), South Central (634), Central East (409), North West (346), South West (285), North Central (261), Far North West (198), Central West (94), North East (52), and Far North East (8). There are 142 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are one hundred and seventy new lineage results reported today. Of the 3,668 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 3,606 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 53 are P.1 (Brazilian) and nine are B.1.351 (SA).  

An additional 8,415 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 545,459.

The 8,415 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (1,832), Saskatoon (1,404), South East (983), North West (793), South Central (538), Central East (484), Central West (468), South West (452), North Central (427), North East (315), Far North West (312), and Far North East (125). There were 282 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 161 people in hospital. One hundred and twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (57), Regina (41), South Central (6), North West (5), North Central (4), Central East (4), South West (4), South East (4), and Far North West (1). Thirty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (18), Saskatoon (14), North West (1), North Central (1), and Central East (1).

Two hundred and thirty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 41,381. 

There were 3,415 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 11. To date, 812,142 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
