There are 21 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 2, 2021.
There were 34 new cases reported on July 1, with three cases in the South Central. A detailed release was not provided by the Saskatchewan Health Authortity due to the Canada Day holiday.
The new cases reported today are located in the following zones: Regina (7), Far North West (5), Saskatoon (4), Far North Central (1), North West (1), North Central (1), Central East (1), and South West (1).
Four previously reported cases have been assigned to the North Central (3) and North West (1) zones.
There are now 48,882 reported cases, including 405 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 38 (3.1 per 100,000).
There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 568.
As of July 1, 12,175 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,800), Saskatoon (2,116), South East (1,144), South Central (888), North West (828), Central East (651), North Central (633), South West (400), Far North West (317), Central West (146), Far North East (87), North East (80), and Far North Central (3). There are 82 screened VOCs with residence pending.
There are no new lineage results reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,242 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,675 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 348 are Gamma (P.1), 209 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).
An additional 20,981 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,194,535.
The additional 20,981 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (7,251), Regina (5,904), Central East (2,044), South East (1,150), South Central (845), North Central (719), Central West (642), North West (524), South West (460), North East (427), Far North West (256), Far North East (165), and Far North Central (3). There were 591 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 57 people in hospital. Forty-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (19), Regina (12), North Central (7), North West (3), South Central (2), Central West (1), and Central East (1). Twelve people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Regina (3), North West (2), and North Central (2).
Thirty-six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 47,909 recoveries.
There were 1,779 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 1. To date, 920,303 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
