207 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths reported, 244 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Regina (64), Saskatoon (29), North Central (31), North West (11), South East (4), South Central (16), Far North West (11), Central West (1), Central East (12), South West (5), North East (8)

There are three new deaths to report today. One is in the 70-79 age group from Regina and two are from the 80+ age group from Saskatoon and the North Central zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 498.

There are 207 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 3, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Regina (64), Saskatoon (29), North Central (31), North West (11), South East (4), South Central (16), Far North West (11), Central West (1), Central East (12), South West (5), North East (8).  

Eleven of the 16 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Fifteen new cases are pending residence information.  

Two previously reported cases pending residence information have been assigned to the North Central zone.

There are now 41,806 reported cases, including 2,397 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 230 (18.8 new cases per 100,000).  

As of May 2, 7,296 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (3,878), Saskatoon (835), South East (750), South Central (553), Central East (327), North West (223), South West (215), Far North West (147), North Central (131), Central West (86), North East (3), and Far North East (3). There are 106 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are no new lineage results reported today. Of the 2,522 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 2,491 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 22 are P.1 (Brazilian) and nine are B.1.351 (SA).  

An additional 7,154 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 450,823. 

The 7,154 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (2,118), Saskatoon (2,076), South East (299), Central East (831), North West (278), North Central (562), South Central (320), Central West (172), North East (111), Far North West (51), South West (124), Far North East (6). There were 206 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 174 people in hospital. One hundred and thirty-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (54), Regina (58), Central East (6), South East (4) North West (5), North Central (3), South Central (3), Far North East (1), and South West (1). Thirty-nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (21), Saskatoon (14), Central East (2), North Central (1), and South Central (1).

Two-hundred and seven more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 38,911 recoveries, 

There were 3,358 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 2. To date, 780,355 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
