20 new COVID-19 cases, active cases now at 140

There are 20 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Sept. 20.  

The new cases are located in the Regina (10), Saskatoon (7), and South East (2) zones. The location of one case is pending.
 
The seven new cases reported today in the Saskatoon area are associated with the workplace outbreak previously identified at Brandt Industries. There have been 14 cases linked to the workplace thus far.

There are now 1,807 reported cases, including 140 active cases.  

Investigations completed thus far have found that 27 of the 140 current active cases are from communal living settings.

A total of 10 people are in hospital. Nine people are receiving inpatient care — seven in Saskatoon, one in Regina, and one in the South Central zone. One person is in intensive care in Saskatoon.

One more person has recovered, increasing the provincial total to 1,643 recoveries.
  
Of the 1,807 cases in the province to date:

  • 265 cases are travellers;
  • 881 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 523 have no known exposures; and
  • 138 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level:

  • 438 cases are from the south area (222 south west, 199 south central, 17 south east);
  • 357 cases are from the far north area (349 far north west, 0 far north central, 8 far north east);
  • 347 cases are from the Saskatoon area;
  • 271 cases are from the north area (131 north west, 73 north central, 67 north east);
  • 234 cases are from the central area (172 central west, 62 central east); and
  • 159 cases are from the Regina area.

Twenty-four deaths have been reported to date.
 
A total of 171,945 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. Yesterday, 2,426 COVID-19 tests were performed.
