196 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 207 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (67), Regina (26), North Central (21), Central East (20), North West (19), South East (13), South West (9), South Central (5), Far North East (4), Far North West (3), Central West (3), and North East (2)

There is one new death to report today in the 80-plus age group from the Regina zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 516.

There are 196 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 15, 2021.  

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (67), Regina (26), North Central (21), Central East (20), North West (19), South East (13), South West (9), South Central (5), Far North East (4), Far North West (3), Central West (3), and North East (2). 

All five of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four new case are pending residence information. 

Four cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the following zones: North Central (3) and South East (1). 

One case previously not reported was added to the North East zone.

Eight cases tested out of province were added to the following zones: North Central (6) and North West (2). 

There are now 44,364 reported cases, including 2,072 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 193. 

As of May 14, 9,085 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,348), Saskatoon (1,233), South East (942), South Central (654), Central East (435), North West (373), South West (313), North Central (279), Far North West (203), Central West (97), North East (53), and Far North East (12). There are 143 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are three hundred and thirty-seven new lineage results reported today. Of the 4,443 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 4,341 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 87 are P.1 (Brazilian), 10 are B.1.351 (SA), and 5 are B.1.617 (Indian).  

An additional 18,568 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 571,957.

The 18,568 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (5,722), Saskatoon (4,764), Central East (1,534), South East (1,168), North Central (985), South Central (977), North East (775), North West (667), South West (657), Central West (412), Far North East (132), Far North West (122), and Far North Central (1). There were 652 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 144 people in hospital. One hundred and eighteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (50), Regina (41), North Central (6), North West (5), South Central (5), South West (4), Central East (3), South East (3), and Far North West (1). Twenty-six people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (12), Saskatoon (11), North West (1), North Central (1), and Central East (1).

Two hundred and seven more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 41,776 recoveries. 

There were 3,511 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 14. To date, 819,738 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
