195 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 256 recoveries

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 40 to 49 age group from the Saskatoon zone and one death was reported in the 80-plus age group from the Central East zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 350.

There are 195 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Feb. 12, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (54), Regina (27), Far North West (21), North Central (19), North West (16), South East (10), Far North East (9), North East (9), Central West (9), Central East (6), Far North Central (5), South Central (5) zones.  

All five new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Five cases are pending resident information.

Five previously reported cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the following zones: Regina (3), Far North West (1), and Far North East (1).

There are now 26,145 reported cases, including 1,900 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 170 (13.9 new cases per 100,000 population). 

There were 525 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 46,788. With this, 101 per cent of the doses received have been administered to date. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.

Saskatchewan will receive less Moderna vaccine than originally expected for the week of February 22. The Ministry of Health and the Saskatchewan Health Authority will review distribution plans.

The 525 doses were administered in the following zones: Far North West (175), North Central (171), Far North East (81), North East (66), Far North Central (21), and North West (11).

There are 182 people in hospital. One hundred and fifty-nine people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (54), Regina (46), North Central (20), North West (17), Central East (10), Far North West (4), South East (3), Far North East (2), North East (1), Central West (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-three people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (9), Regina (8), North West (2), Central East (2), North Central (1), and South West (1).

Two hundred and fifty-six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 23,895 recoveries. 

There were 2,694 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Feb. 10. To date, 538,087 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
