Eight Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Two deaths were in the Regina zone, including one in the 60 to 69 age group and one in the 40 to 49 age group. Three reported deaths were in the 70 to 79 age group in the Central East (1), Far North East (1), and North West (1) zones. Three reported deaths were in the 80-plus age group in the South East (2) and Far North East (1) zones.
That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 322.
There are 194 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Feb. 3.
The new cases are located in the Regina (62), Saskatoon (49), North West (26), Far North West (11), North Central (10), North East (8), South East (7), Far North East (6), Central East (5), Far North Central (2), Central West (1), and South West (1) zones.
Six cases have pending residence information.
One previously reported case with pending residence information has been assigned to the Far North West zone.
There are now 24,430 reported cases, including 2,254 active cases.
The seven-day average of daily new cases is 233 (19.1 new cases per 100,000 population).
There were 177 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 35,763. As of Feb. 3, 109 per cent of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.
The doses were administered in the following zones: Saskatoon (156), Central East (11), and Far North Central (10). Back-dated corrections submitted to Feb. 1 have realized an additional 11 doses of vaccine administered in the Central East zone.
On Feb. 2, there were 194 people in hospital: 164 individuals receiving in-patient care and 30 residents in ICU. This data was not made available yesterday due to an update in reporting systems.
As of Feb. 3, 185 people are in hospital. One hundred and fifty-nine people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (58), Regina (42), North Central (18), North West (17), Central East (12), Far North West (5), North East (2), South East (2), Far North East (1), Central West (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-six people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (11), and Regina (9), Central East (4), North West (1), and North Central (1).
Two hundred and fifty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 21,854 recoveries.
There were 2,780 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Feb. 2. To date, 515,292 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
