193 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 222 recoveries

There is one new death reported today in the 70 to 79 age group in the South East zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 458.

There are 193 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on April 14, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Regina (66), Saskatoon (40), North West (20), South East (17), Central East (13), South Central (9), South West (8), Far North West (5), North Central (2), and North East (2) zones.  

Eight of the nine new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Eleven new cases have pending residence information.  

Six previously reported cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the South East (4), North West (1), and South Central (1) zones.  

There are now 37,085 reported cases, including 2,525 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 271 (22.2 new cases per 100,000). 

As of April 14, 3,901 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the Regina (2,532), South East (378), South Central (333), Saskatoon (328), Central East (121), South West (48), North Central (46), North West (40), Central West (29), Far North West (9), North East (3), and Far North East (2) zones. There are 32 cases with residence pending.

There were zero new lineage results being reported today. Of the 1,435 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 1,426 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK) and nine are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 8,682 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 307,449.  

The 8,682 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following regions: Regina (2,473), Saskatoon (1,944), Central West (758), North Central (686), Central East (657), South Central (517), North West (451), South East (369), South West (366), North East (105), Far North West (59), and Far North East (36). There were 261 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Two hundred and three people are in hospital. One hundred and sixty-two people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Regina (79), Saskatoon (43), South East (11), Central East (10), North Central (9), South West (3), North West (2), South Central (2), Far North West (1), Far North East (1), and North East (1), Forty-one people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (27), Saskatoon (8), Central East (2), South Central (2), North Central (1), and South West (1).

Two hundred and twenty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 34,102 recoveries.

There were 3,258 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on April 13. To date, 713,913 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
