19 new COVID-19 cases, 21 recoveries

There are 19 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 12, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (7), Far North West (3), North Central (3), Far North East (2), North East (2), Regina (1), and South East (1).

There are now 49,279 reported cases, including 397 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 43 (3.5 per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 573.

A total of 12,276 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,828), Saskatoon (2,131), South East (1,150), South Central (890), North West (841), Central East (651), North Central (637), South West (414), Far North West (332), Central West (149), Far North East (87), North East (80), and Far North Central (4). There are 82 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There were no new lineage results reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,669 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,912 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 398 are Gamma (P.1), 349 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 5,458 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,304,646.

The additional 5,458 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (1,970), Regina (1,779), South Central (498), North West (225), North Central (214), South East (159), Central East (150), North East (86), Central West (64), Far North West (60), South West (41), Far North East (21), and Far North Central (9). There were 182 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 57 people in hospital. Forty-eight people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Regina (15), North West (6), North Central (5), Central East (1), and South East (1). Nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (4), Regina (4), and North West (1).

Twenty-one more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,309 recoveries.

There were 922 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 11. To date, 935,850 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
