183 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 238 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (52), Regina (41), North West (26), South East (23), Central East (15), North Central (7), South Central (7), Far North West (4), South West (3), Central West (2), and North East (1)

There are two new deaths to report today. One death is from the North Central zone and one death is from the Central East zone, both in the 70 to 79 age group. 

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 508.

There are 183 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 12, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (52), Regina (41), North West (26), South East (23), Central East (15), North Central (7), South Central (7), Far North West (4), South West (3), Central West (2), and North East (1).  

All seven of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Two new cases are pending residence information.  

Three cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the following zones: North Central (1), Central West (1), and Regina (1).

Nine cases tested out of province were added to the following zones: North West (4), Saskatoon (3), Far North West (1), and Regina (1).

There are now 43,673 reported cases, including 2,016 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 203 (16.6 new cases per 100,000).  

As of May 11, 8,628 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,273), Saskatoon (1,098), South East (882), South Central (624), Central East (396), North West (341), South West (283), North Central (253), Far North West (194), Central West (92), North East (50), and Far North East (8). There are 134 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are two new lineage results reported today. Of the 3,498 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 3,438 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 51 are P.1 (Brazilian) and nine are B.1.351 (SA).  

An additional 6,737 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 537,044.

The 6,737 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (2,288), Regina (1,494), North West (604), North Central (477), South West (357), Central East (276), South East (251), Central West (209), South Central (186), North East (173), Far North West (100), and Far North East (15). There were 307 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 163 people in hospital. One hundred and twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (60), Regina (39), South Central (7), North West (5), South East (5), Central East (4), North Central (3), South West (2), and North East (1). Thirty-seven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (19), Saskatoon (13), Central East (2), North West (1), North Central (1), and South West (1).

Two hundred and thirty-eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 41,149 recoveries. 

There were 3,048 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 11. To date, 808,727 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
