171 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 328 recoveries

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 50 to 59 age group and one death was reported in the 70 to 79 age group, both from the North West zone. 

That brings the number of deaths in the province to 341.

There are 171 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Feb. 8, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Regina (43), Saskatoon (34), Far North West (16), North East (15), South East (14), Far North East (11), North West (10), North Central (10), Far North Central (8), Central West (3), Central East (3), and South Central (1) zones.  

The new case in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three cases have pending residence information.

There are now 25,574 reported cases, including 2,204 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 223 (18.2 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 509 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 42,987. This number is lower than expected, due to the cold weather and reporting delays. 

The 509 doses were administered in the following zones: Far North East (448) and Far North West (61). An additional 182 doses were administered in the North West zone on Feb. 6.

Two hundred and fourteen people are in hospital. One hundred and eighty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (63), Regina (56), North Central (25), North West (19), Central East (10), South East (4), Far North West (3), North East (2), Central West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (12), Regina (11), Central East (3), North Central (2), North West (1), and South West (1).

Three hundred and twenty-eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 23,029 recoveries. 

There were 2,337 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Feb. 7. To date, 528,916 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
