171 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 148 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (70), Regina (19), North Central (17), South East (17), North West (12), South Central (10), Far North West (7), Central East (6), South West (4), North East (3), Central West (3), and Far North East (2)

There is one new death to report today in the 80-plus age group from the South East zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 538.

There are 171 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 30, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (70), Regina (19), North Central (17), South East (17), North West (12), South Central (10), Far North West (7), Central East (6), South West (4), North East (3), Central West (3), and Far North East (2). 

Six of the 10 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

One new case is pending residence information. 

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the Central East zone.

There are now 46,635 reported cases, including 1,430 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 137 (11.1 per 100,000).  

As of May 29, 10,623 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,626), Saskatoon (1,661), South East (1,064), South Central (745), North West (595), Central East (590), North Central (460), South West (367), Far North West (239), Central West (109), North East (58), and Far North East (41). There are 68 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are no new lineage results reported today. Of the 5,713 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 5,529 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 144 are P.1 (Brazilian), 30 are B.1.617 (Indian) and 10 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 11,061 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 717,609.  

The 11,061 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (3,809), Regina (2,868), North West (652), South East (572), Central West (563), South Central (505), North Central (450), Central East (432), South West (395), North East (293), Far North East (127), Far North West (103), and Far North Central (27). There were 265 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 109 people in hospital. Eighty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (35), Regina (30), North West (5), North Central (5), Central East (3), North East (2), South West (2), South Central (1), and South East (1). Twenty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (11), Regina (8), North Central (4), North West (1), and Central East (1).

There were 2,241 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 29. To date, 859,538 COVID-19 tests have been processed.  

One hundred and forty-eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 44,667 recoveries.
