169 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 168 recoveries

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 70 to 79 age group from the North East zone and one death was reported in the 50 to 59 age group from the South East zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 391.

There are 169 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Mar. 4, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (46), Regina (41), Far North West (27), Far North East (15), North West (10), North Central (9), Central East (5), Central West (4), South Central (3), South East (2), and South West (1), zones.  

All three cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Six cases are pending residence information.  

Three cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Regina (2) and North Central (1) zones.  Eight cases were found to be out-of-province residents and were removed from the counts.

There are now 29,220 reported cases, including 1,422 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 148 (12.0 new cases per 100,000). 

An additional 2,493 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 84,090.

The 2,493 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered in the following regions: Regina (1,141), Saskatoon (951), South East (188), Central East (174), North Central (12), Far North East (11), North East (10), and North West (6).

One hundred and forty-six people are in hospital. One hundred and twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (52), Regina (33), North Central (14), North West (11), Central East (5), Far North West (3), South East (3), Far North East (2), North East (2), and Central West (1). Twenty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), Regina (9), and Central East (1).

One hundred and sixty-eight more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 27,407 recoveries.

There were 2,991 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Mar. 3. To date, 585,820 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
