16 new COVID-19 cases, 37 recoveries

There are 16 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 19, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Far North West (4), Regina (2), North West (2), Far North East (1), North East (1), and South East (1).  

One Saskatchewan resident that was tested out-of-province was added to the Saskatoon zone. One case with pending residence was assigned to the North Central zone.  

There are now 49,450 reported cases, including 262 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 26 (2.1 new cases per 100,000).  

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 575. 

A total of 12,312 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,832), Saskatoon (2,135), South East (1,154), South Central (891), North West (854), Central East (652), North Central (638), South West (415), Far North West (335), Central West (149), Far North East (87), North East (82), and Far North Central (4). There are 84 screened VOCs with residence pending.

No new lineage results were reported for Variants of Concern today.  Of the 7,807 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,963 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 424 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 410 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 2,704 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,350,671.

The additional 2,704 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (1,131), Regina (939), Central East (105), South East (103), North Central (78), South West (67), North East (52), North West (50), South Central (48), Central West (37), Far North West (6), and Far North East (2). There were 86 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 55 people in hospital. Forty-six people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Far Saskatoon (18), Regina (13), North Central (7), North West (5), North East (1), South Central (1), and South East (1). Nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), Regina (3), and North Central (1).

Thirty-seven more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,613 recoveries. 

There were 902 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 18. To date, 944,466 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.
