153 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported

One person over the age of 80 from the Saskatoon zone who tested positive for COVID-19 has died. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 33.

There are 153 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Nov. 20.

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (42), South East (20), Far North Central (16), North Central (14), Regina (14), South West (14), North West (11), Central East (4), Far North East (4), South Central (4), Far North West (3), Central West (2), and North East (1) zones.

Three of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four new cases have pending residence information.

There are now 5,804 reported cases, including 2,145 active casdes.  

Eighty-five people are in hospital. Sixty-six people are receiving inpatient care — 30 in Saskatoon, 16 in the South East, seven in North Central, five in the North West, five in Regina, one in the North East, one in Central East, and one in the South Central. Nineteen people are in intensive care — eight in Saskatoon, five in Regina, three in North Central, one in the North West, one in Central East, one in South West.

Seventy-three more people have recovererd, increasing the provincial total to 3,626 recoveries. 

Of the 5,804 cases in the province:

  • 421 cases are travelers;
  • 2,589 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 1,216 have no known exposures; and
  • 1,578 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level:

  • 1,670 cases are from the Saskatoon area;
  • 1,236 cases are from the north area (413 north west, 580 north central, 243 north east);
  • 850 cases are from the Regina area;
  • 787 cases are from the south area (293 south west, 317 south central, 177 south east);
  • 724 cases are from the far north area (512 far north west, 66 far north central, 146 far north east); and
  • 509 cases are from the central area (228 central west, 281 central east).

A total of 310,090 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan. Yesterday, 2,826 COVID-19 tests were processed.
