15 new COVID-19 cases, 5 recoveries

There are 15 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Sept. 27. 

The new cases are located in the Central East (8), Regina (4), North Central (1), and Saskatoon (1) zones.

One case’s location is pending.

There are now 1,863 reported cases, including 144 active cases.  

Seven people are in hospital receiving inpatient care — six in Saskatoon and one in Regina.

Five more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 1,710 recoveries.

Of the 1,878 cases in the province to date:

  • 279 cases are travellers;
  • 932 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 535 have no known exposures; and
  • 132 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level:

  • 441 cases are from the south area (222 south west, 200 south central, 19 south east);
  • 382 cases are from the Saskatoon area;
  • 358 cases are from the far north area (349 far north west, 0 far north central, 9 far north east);
  • 276 cases are from the north area (132 north west, 77 north central, 67 north east);
  • 248 cases are from the central area (175 central west, 73 central east); and
  • 172 cases are from the Regina area.

Twenty-four deaths have been reported to date.

A total of 185,832 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. Yesterday, 2,616 COVID-19 tests were performed.
