Six Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Five deaths were reported in the Saskatoon zone, including one in the 50 to 59 age group and four in the 80-plus age group. An additional death was reported in the 60 to 69 age group in the North Central zone. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 274.

There are 149 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Jan. 27, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the Saskatoon (48), Regina (38), South East (15), North West (8), North Central (8), North East (8), Central East (7), Far North West (5), Far North East (3), Central West (2), South Central (2), and Far North Central (1) zones.

Four new cases have pending residence information.

Ten previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (5), North West (3), Far North East (1), and North Central (1) zones.

One previously reported case has been deemed to be out-of-province and removed from the counts.

There are now 22,794 reported cases, including 2,527 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 242 (19.8 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 429 administered doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported yesterday in Saskatchewan. That brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 34,615. As of Jan. 27, 106 per cent of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.

The doses were administered in the following zones: Saskatoon (230), South East (119), North West (58), Far North Central (22). Back-dated corrections submitted for Jan. 25 have realized an additional 106 doses of vaccine administered.

Two hundred and twenty people are in hospital. One hundred and eighty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (70), Regina (39), North Central (30), North West (15), Central East (11), North East (6), Far North West (5), South East (3), Central West (2), Far North East (1), South West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty-six people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (18), Regina (12), North West (2), North Central (2), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Two hundred and sixty-four more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 19,993 recoveries.

There were 2,176 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Jan. 26. To date, 497,468 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
