147 new COVID-19 cases, 266 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (43), Regina (35), North West (11), South Central (11), South West (10), North Central (9), South East (9), Central East (8), North East (6), and Far North West (2)

There are 147 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 10, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (43), Regina (35), North West (11), South Central (11), South West (10), North Central (9), South East (9), Central East (8), North East (6), and Far North West (2).  

Ten of the 11 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three new cases are pending residence information.  

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the following zones: North West (1) and Regina (1).

There are now 43,288 reported cases, including 2,141 active cases.

There are no new deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 502.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 204 (16.7 new cases per 100,000).  

As of May 9, 8,392 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,223), Saskatoon (1,029), South East (863), South Central (612), Central East (373), North West (318), South West (274), North Central (237), Far North West (187), Central West (90), North East (50), and Far North East (6). There are 130 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There are 92 new lineage results reported today.  Of the 3,436 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 3,378 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 49 are P.1 (Brazilian) and nine are B.1.351 (SA).  

An additional 9,124 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 527,257.

The 9,124 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (4,019), Regina (1,280), Central East (953), North Central (596), North West (519), South East (516), South Central (316), South West (292), North East (170), Central West (64), Far North West (42), Far North East (9), and Far North Central (1). There were 347 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 156 people in hospital. One hundred and nineteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (56), Regina (41), North West (8), South East (4), North Central (3), Central East (3), North East (2), South West (1), and South Central (1). Thirty-seven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (17), Saskatoon (13), North Central (3), Central East (2), South West (1), and South Central (1).

Two hundred and sixty-six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 40,645 recoveries.

There were 2,507 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 9. To date, 802,636 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
