147 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 310 recoveries

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Both reported deaths were in the 80-plus age group in the North West zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 306.

There are 147 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Feb. 1.

The new cases are located in the Regina (33), North West (24), North East (21), Far North West (14), Saskatoon (13), South Central (11), South East (8), Central East (7), Central West (6), Far North East (4), North Central (3), and South West (1) zones.

Four of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Two cases have pending residence information.

Ten previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (6), Far North West (2), Far North East (1), and Saskatoon (1) zones.

There are now 24,011 reported cases, including 2,369 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 228 (18.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 88 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 35,447. As of Feb. 1, 108 per cent of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.

The doses were administered in the following zones: Saskatoon (66) and Far North East (22).

Two hundred and two people are in hospital. One hundred and seventy-two people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (65), Regina (43), North Central (22), North West (19), Central East (10), South East (5), Far North West (4), North East (2), Far North East (1), South Central (1). Thirty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (11), Regina (11), Central East (4), North West (2), and North Central (2).

Three hundred and ten more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 21,336 recoveries.

There were 1,900 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on January 31, 2021. To date, 510,538 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
