There are 141 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on May 19, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (38), North West (19), Regina (18), Central East (15), North Central (13), South East (9), South Central (7), Far North West (5), Central West (4), South West (3), Far North East (1), and North East (1).
All seven of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Eight cases are pending residence information.
Three cases with pending residence information have been assigned to Regina (2) and the North West (1).
There are now 44,982 reported cases, including 1,786 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 180 (14.7 new cases per 100,000).
There are no new deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 522.
As of May 18, 9,555 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,456), Saskatoon (1,372), South East (979), South Central (688), North West (503), Central East (485), South West (325), North Central (299), Far North West (214), Central West (101), North East (57), and Far North East (18). There are 58 screened VOCs with residence pending.
There are no new lineage results reported today. Of the 4,586 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 4,477 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 92 are P.1 (Brazilian), 10 are B.1.351 (SA), and seven are B.1.617 (Indian).
An additional 6,935 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 615,459.
The 6,935 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (1,705), Regina (1,602), North West (641), South Central (625), South East (500), North Central (434), Central East (398), North East (290), Central West (216), South West (168), Far North West (84), and Far North East (79). There were 193 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 134 people in hospital. One hundred and six people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (42), Regina (42), North West (6), North Central (5), Central East (5), South West (2), South Central (2), and South East (2). Twenty-eight people are in intensive care in the following zones: Regina (16), Saskatoon (10), and North Central (2).
One hundred and eighty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 42,674.
There were 2,866 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 18. To date, 830,628 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
