There is one new death to report today in the 30 to 39 age group from the North West zone. That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 569.
There are 14 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 6, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West (5), North Central (4), Regina (2), North West (2), and Far North Central (1).
There are now 48,992 reported cases, including 313 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 28 (2.3 per 100,000).
As of July 5, 12,212 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,810), Saskatoon (2,124), South East (1,145), South Central (889), North West, (836), Central East (651), North Central (633), South West (401), Far North West (324), Central West (146), Far North East (87), North East (80), and Far North Central (4). There are 82 screened VOCs with residence pending.
There are 271 new lineage results reported for Variants of Concern today. Of the 7,515 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 6,816 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 385 are Gamma (P.1), 304 are Delta (B.1.617.2) and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).
An additional 8,348 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,233,534. Over half a million Saskatchewan residents are now fully vaccinated.
The additional 8,348 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Saskatoon (3,462), Regina (2,842), North West (701), North Central (309), Central East (189), South East (185), Central West (119), South Central (99), Far North East (81), North East (68), South West (49), Far North West (19), and Far North Central (1). There were 224 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 62 people in hospital. Fifty-two people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (24), Regina (11), North Central (8), North West (3), South Central (3), Central East (2), and South East (1). Ten people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (4), Regina (3), North Central (2), and North West (1).
Sixty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 48,110 recoveries.
There were 1,549 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 5. To date, 925,232 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
