134 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 194 recoveries

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. The deaths were reported in the 80-plus age group from the North Central and Saskatoon zones.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 387.

There are 134 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Mar. 2, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Regina (38), Saskatoon (28), Far North West (22), Far North East (12), North West (12), Central East (8), North Central (5), South Central (3), South East (3), and North East (2) zones.  

The three new cases in the South Central are all located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

One case is pending residence information.  

Four previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North West (2), Far North West (1), and Saskatoon (1) zones. Three Saskatchewan residents who tested positive out of province have been added to the North West (2) and North Central (1) zones.

There are now 28,938 reported cases, including 1,492 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 144 (11.8 new cases per 100,000).  

There were 618 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 80,236.

The 618 doses were administered in the Saskatoon (425), Central East (88), North Central (44), Far North West (27), Far North Central (11), Far North East (11), North West (6), and South East (6) zones. Data has been updated to include an additional 329 doses administered in the South East (209) and Central East (120) zones on Feb. 26 and 27.

One hundred and fifty-four people are in hospital. One hundred and thirty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (53), Regina (36), North Central (12), North West (11), Central East (7), Far North West (4), South East (4), Far North East (2), North East (2), South Central (2), and Central West (1). Twenty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (12), Regina (7), and North West (1),

One hundred and ninety-four more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 27,059 recoveries.

There were 2,175 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Mar. 1. To date, 580,241 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
