130 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 116 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (46), Regina (22), North West (13), South Central (12), Far North West (8), North Central (8), North East (7), South East (7), Central East (2), South West (2), and Central West (1)

There is one new death to report today in the 70 to 79 age group from the North West zone.

That brings the total number of deaths to 541.

There are 130 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 2, 2021.  

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (46), Regina (22), North West (13), South Central (12), Far North West (8), North Central (8), North East (7), South East (7), Central East (2), South West (2), and Central West (1). 

Eight of the 12 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Two new cases are pending residence information. 

There are now 46,964 reported cases, including 1,285 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 131 (10.7 per 100,000).  

As of June 1, 10,812 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,670), Saskatoon (1,700), South East (1,077), South Central (778), North West (609), Central East (597), North Central (475), South West (381), Far North West (244), Central West (109), North East (60), and Far North East (46). There are 66 screened VOCs with residence pending.

There were 81 new lineage results reported today. Of the 5,794 VOCs with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 5,594 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 159 are P.1 (Brazilian), 31 are B.1.617 (Indian) and 10 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 9,299 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 740,251.

The 9,299 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Regina (2,490), Saskatoon (2,363), South East (1,122), North West (511), Central West (481), Central East (470), South West (394), North Central (386), South Central (285), North East (274), Far North West (174), Far North East (174), and Far North Central (15). There were 160 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

There are 103 people in hospital. Eighty-one people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (34), Regina (26), North West (6), North Central (6), Central East (2), South West (2), South Central (2), South East (2), and North East (1). Twenty-two people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), Regina (6), North Central (3), North West (1), Central East (1), and South Central (1).

One hundred and sixteen more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 45,138 recoveries.

There were 2,798 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 1. To date, 865,803 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
