122 new COVID-19 cases, 63 recoveries

There are 122 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 14, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (37), North Central (22), Far North East (20), South East (10), South Central (8), Far North West (4), North West (4), North East (4), Far North Central (3), Central West (2), Central East (2), Regina (2), and South West (1).

Over one-third (36.9 per cent) of new cases are in the 20-39 age category.

Four of the eight new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Three cases are pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central zone.

Six Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the Saskatoon (2), Far North West (1), North Central (1), Regina (1), and South East (1) zones.

There are now 51,162 reported cases, including 958 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 97 (8.1 new cases per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 586.

A total of 12,408 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,836), Saskatoon (2,168), South East (1,157), South Central (893), North West (877), Central East (654), North Central (652), South West (417), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (94), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 82 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,444,378.

There are 77 people in hospital. Sixty-seven people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (30), North Central (16), Regina (9), North West (4), Central West (2), South East (2), South Central (2), Far North West (1), and Central East (1). Ten people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (5), North Central (2), Regina (2), and North West (1). Of the 77 patients, 57 (74 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Sixty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 49,618 recoveries.

There were 1,829 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 984,425 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
