116 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths recorded

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One individual was in their 60s and from the Far North West, while the other individual was in their 50s and from the North East. This brings the total number of deaths in the province to 27.

There are 116 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan, as of Nov. 7.

The new cases are located in the Regina (39), Saskatoon (38), North Central (10), North West (9), North East (5), Far North West (4), South Central (3), Far North East (2), Central East (2), Far North Central (1), South West (1), and South East (1) zones.

All three cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

One new case has pending residence information.

There are now 3,738 reported cases, including 985 active cases.  

Thirty-four people are in hospital. Twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care — one in the Far North West, two in North West, eight in North Central, nine in Saskatoon, and six in the Regina zones. Eight people are in intensive care — one in North Central, five in Saskatoon, and two in Regina.

Thirty-nine more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 2,726 recoveries.

Of the 3,738 cases in the province:

  • 384 cases are travelers;
  • 1,790 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 873 have no known exposures; and
  • 691 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level:

  • 1,005 cases from the Saskatoon area;
  • 795 cases from the north area (249 north west, 398 north central, 148 north east);
  • 525 cases from the Regina area;
  • 521 cases from the south area (233 south west, 222 south central, 66 south east);
  • 472 cases from the far north area (412 far north west, 1 far north central, 59 far north east); and
  • 415 cases from the central area (198 central west, 217 central east).

A total of 278,645 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. Yesterday, 2,908 COVID-19 tests were processed.
