Saskatchewan Roughriders' receiver Dohnte Meyers made a memorable play against the Toronto Argonauts in Week 3 when he caught a pass from quarterback Trevor Harris and took it 70 yards for a touchdown.

"Relief, it's exciting. It's a ton of emotions to have an explosive play," Meyers said. "The exciting play that you dream for. To be able to have that opportunity to celebrate with my teammates in the end zone, everything is amazing."

The Green and White won the game against the Argonauts 39-32 at BMO Field. Meyers led the team in receiving yards with 125 on four receptions, two going for touchdowns. Mario Alford scored the game-winning touchdown when he returned a kickoff 99 yards.

“Well, the game's not over till the clock count is zero,” Meyers said. “We know we're going to get an opportunity, but we got Super Mario back there, so anything's possible. As you guys can see, he's electric."

Among the Riders receivers, the bar is set high for them to produce, according to Meyers.

"It's the standard that's set in the room. It's a standard that's set from the vets and from the coaches, from the players, from everybody that's in the room," Meyers said. "That's the expectation. Me being a young guy in the room, I want to rise to the occasion and add fuel to the fire for everybody else."

Last year, Meyers was a CFL rookie with the Riders, he suited up in four games, recording 24 receptions for 349 receiving yards and one touchdown.

"For the most part, I'll say I'm healthy. That's the biggest thing for me, I feel like the experience, the practice atmosphere I was able to go through last year has allowed me to be this product this year," Meyers explained. "The offseason, having a year under my belt, I have my feet wet, now I'm a little more used to it. I can play faster, think less, get comfortable."

Riders' head coach Corey Mace made sure to give Meyers praise for what he has accomplished so far in his career to date.

"It's another guy that we know can make unbelievable plays and have games like that. Not one person in the locker room is shocked. We really believe strongly in this receiving group. We think we're super deep," Mace said.

"He is somebody who could take something that might not look like a lot and turn it into something. He's an excellent twitchy receiver. Even though he's a little bit smaller than the other guys, he does not care about making tough catches in dark areas. I can't say enough good things about Dohnte."

The Riders host the B.C Lions on Saturday. Catch the pre-game show with Teagan Witko, Justin Dunk and Wes Cates at 2 p.m. Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder have the game call at 5 p.m. You can hear everything on the 620 CKRM Co-operators Rider Broadcast Network.
