Wesdome Gold Mines has had over 30 years of continuous gold mining operations in Canada. The Company is 100% Canadian focused with a pipeline of projects in various stages of development. The Company’s strategy is to build Canada’s next intermediate gold producer, producing 200,000+ ounces from two mines in Ontario and Quebec. The Eagle River Complex in Wawa, Ontario is currently producing gold at the Eagle River Underground Mine. Wesdome started production at the Kiena Complex in Val d’Or, Quebec in December 2022. SUMMARY

Reporting to the Eagle River Underground Mine Foreman, the Underground Development Miner will be part of the underground development crew, responsible for safely and efficiently removing previously blasted material (muck out round), scaling (removing any unstable slabs of
rock hanging from the roof and sidewalls to protect workers and equipment from damage), installing support or/and reinforcement using shotcrete, drill face rock, load explosives, and blast explosives.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES PERFORMED

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Fit for Duty compliance.
  • Report to supervisor at end of shift, the location of equipment and operational status of the equipment and tools.
  • Will be expected to participate in daily safety and work line-ups, delivered by their immediate supervisor, and must complete daily line-ups to support the underground mining operations.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Operate mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to company standards.
  • Perform concrete work, installation of timbers and specialized ground support, forming, vent doors, walls, rebar installation and refuge stations.
  • Extend services such as secondary ventilation, waterlines, airlines along with drainage.
  • Operating a jackleg, stopper and air tuggers.
  • Conduct pre-shift examinations of assigned equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns with equipment or safety to a supervisor immediately.
  • Work as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and lead miners.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ontario Secondary school graduation diploma.
  • Completion of Underground Common Core 770010 program.
  • Jackleg & Stoper experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground mining.
  • Ability to read and understand designed ground support plans.
  • Train the Trainer considered an asset.
  • Valid (G) Driver’s License.


WORK SCHEDULE

  • 10/11, 11/10 schedule – 10 - hour shifts (overtime available)
  • Camp position (not a fly in, fly out)
  • Location: Eagle River Complex – North of Wawa, Ontario
  • Meals and accommodations are provided while on shift at Eagle River
