The Panthers took the lead early on, scoring three goals in the first period, but the Oilers responded in the second period by tying the game. Both teams were able to score in the third period, leading to overtime, but the prolific Leon Draisaitl dragged the Oilers over the line on Thursday night.

Florida, after the loss in Game 4, was the first team in Stanley Cup Final history to lose a game when up by three or more goals after the first period.
