The Viterra grain terminal at Gull Lake has been named elevator of the year by Canadian Pacific Railway.

The award is given annually to one Canadian and one American elevator, based on high throughput volumes, efficient loading, and commitment to safety.

Located west of Swift Current along the Trans-Canada Highway, the Viterra elevator became capable of loading 8,500 foot long high efficiency product trains early in 2020.

“These elevators are leaders in their field and have contributed to CP moving more grain products in the past crop year than ever before,” said Joan Hardy, CP vice-president sales, marketing and fertilizers.

CHS Northland Grain at Hazel, Minn., won the American elevator award from CP.
