Regina-based Protein Industries Canada has formed a partnership with Singapore-based Nurasa that aims to give Canadian companies easier access to the Asia-Pacific market.

Nurasa is the Canadian equivalent of Protein Industries Canada in terms of helping companies reach other markets and fulfill their potential.

The first action of the newly formed partnership is the establishment of the Asia Pacific Market Entry Program, designed to help Canadian plant-based ingredient and food companies in getting their products to Singapore and the region. Supports include tailored market insights, product development and formulation support, and access to Nurasa’s state-of-the-art facilities and network of commercialization partners.

The Singapore-based group will also help with localizing their product offerings and navigating regulatory requirements.

In a news release, CEO of Protein Industries Canada Robert Hunter says this partnership will bring them a step closer to the goal of making Canada's plant-based food, feed, and ingredient sector a $25 billion industry by the year 2035.

The program is currently open to interested companies until October 15 and it runs until July of 2027. One million dollars has been invested into the program.
